Put r1soft software in recovery mode

While restoring from an r1soft recovery point, you might have faced an error i.e the restoration starts but ends in a couple of seconds with the below error :

“Authenticating with agent AGENT-IP at port 1167 failed: Agent is not in recovery mode but recovery mode is required."

In order to resolve this issue, you need to set the r1soft Agent on the restoration to recovery mode

1. Open the Services window, highlight the R1Soft Windows Agent, and right-click to select “Properties”.

2. Stop the running R1Soft Windows Agent service by clicking on “Stop”

3. Add the text ” -r ” (without quotes) to the field labeled “Start parameters”.

4. Click on “Start” to restart the R1Soft Windows Agent service.

Once this is done follow the below steps :

1) Open Agent Config File : (Default Location : C:\Program Files\R1Soft CDP Agent\conf\agent_config )

2) In the config file, at the very bottom, Change “RecoveryMode=0″ to “RecoveryMode=1″

Note : Please take the backup of the agent_config file before making any changes.

3) Once done, restart the Agent and try restoring backup.

You should be able to restore the backup now.
